Resident Artistic Director Bill Frisell presents an eclectic series of performances this weekend for his Fall Residency at the SFJAZZ Center. The above video previews a delightful live multimedia collaboration between Frisell’s Beautiful Dreamers trio and influential Seattle-based cartoonist and animator Jim Woodring. In a special evening and matinee performance this coming Saturday, Woodring will create live digital illustrations, projected on Miner Auditorium's large video screen, to accompany and inspire the music. Joining Frisell in the Beautiful Dreamers trio is multi-faceted composer/violist Eyvind Kang and in-demand drummer Rudy Royston.
The Frisell-Woodring collaboration also kicks off another great season of Family Matinee concerts. Both fun and educational, Family Matinees engage the youth with entertaining and interactive musical experiences (more information on matinees here).
