From the Ground Up: October 09, 2012

The opening of the SFJAZZ Center is just a little over 100 days away and the building is really coming into form. With these two images taken 10 months apart from each other, photographer Henrik Kam helps show how much progress has been made since January.

HK: The exterior walls and much of SFJAZZ Center's interior structures are site-cast concrete, shaped by pre-made forms created by McClone Construction up in Shingle Springs, CA. The result is seamless, fitting into their surroundings really well.

The horizontal relief lines were made by the wooden strips attached to the form, visible in the photo(below) from this past January of the guys working on the rebar.
