Last night was a busy evening at the SFJAZZ Center. Kamancheh master Kayhan Kalhor and bass santourist Ali Bahrami Fard gave a supremely intimate and deep performance in Miner Auditorium. Meanwhile, our monthly Hotplate Series was rocking in Joe Henderson Lab as singer Tiffany Austin and her Quintet reinterpreted classic Hoagy Carmichael tunes, an early celebration of the great composer-singer's birthday.
